Guidance Counsellor

Kia Ora, I'm James McFelin, Verdon College's School Guidance Counsellor. I have been at Verdon College since 2012 and love the supportive and friendly environment on offer for staff, students and whanau. There are many challenges that our students face in their day to day lives and it is important that they are provided with the necessary strategies to deal with them. I love working with students and their families to help develop and implement these strategies in their lives. Students can see me in my office at any time during the school day, whilst parents are free to connect through phone or email. See below for some useful services in Southland and free help lines.

Talofa Lava, I'm Emma Peipi, Verdon College's Junior School Guidance Counsellor. As an ex-student of Verdon College, I value the supportive and caring environment that the college creates for students. I recognise that there are many challenging and difficult times that our students and whānau face and my aim is to help support students through these times, while also providing a listening ear. It is important for students to know they are not alone and that support is available for them if they need it. I am based in the atrium every Monday and Tuesday and students have many ways they can book in to see me. Whānau are invited to email me if they need to get in touch.
